Local info
 The town of Praia da Luz (Beach of Light) is a beautiful and picturesque town of cobbled streets, shops, supermarkets and an abundance of mouth watering restaurants and happy hang over bars. Summertime sees street entertainment and small market stalls along the promenade. All of the Luz amenities are within walking distance of each other.
Each villa and apartment managed by the team at JNB Villa Management has a Welcome Booklet in place for the arrival of the clients. The Booklet holds details of the villa/apartment, a detailed beach guide (other than the Luz Beach), excursions and days out, local and not so local restaurants and bars that we recommend, best and cheapest places to shop and other useful information. |

There are several supermarkets in Praia da Luz. The best one for variety is Batista's, where you will be able to find just about everything. There are also hypermarkets situated on the outskirts of Lagos (Modelo, Intermarché and Pingo Doce).
There is a small fish market in Luz, on the ground floor of the luztur building (near cinema). Be sure to get there early in the morning, as the fish soon gets sold! |

Praia da Luz has plenty of small gift/souvenir shops. There is also a variety of shops selling beach things.
For clothes, shoes, etc., your best bet is to go to Lagos, which has a thriving shopping center. There are plenty of other shops selling pottery, art, sports equipment and even bargain hunters will find everything that they need. |
